French culture and music were at the forefront of this year’s classical music festival Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci. In total, 81 concerts, operas, and guided tours were organised in the castles and gardens of Potsdam.
From the 10th to the 26th of June, the Potsdam festival painted a musical portrait of France: from Guillaume de Machaut to Jean-Baptiste Lully, from Edith Piaf to Jean-Philippe Rameau and Camille Saint-Saëns, from opera-ballet to jazz and chanson française.
Among the made in France artists scheduled were established artists Richard Galliano, Ensemble Correspondances, Christophe Rousset with Les Talens Lyriques and pianist Lise de la Salle who closed the festival with her open-air concert ‘Paris mon amour’, and emerging artists including Jean Rondeau and the ensemble Les Ambassadeurs.
bureauexport supported a total of 15 events during the Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci festival.
The next edition will take place June 9th-25th, 2017 and will have for theme the four essential elements: water, fire, earth, and air.
